چکیده

Dielectric responces of the one-dimentional electron system is investigated numerically. We treat an interacting one-dimentional spinless fermion model with disorder by using the Density Matrix Renormalization Group(DMRG) method which is extended for nonuniform systems. We apply an electric field E to the system and calculate dielectric responces. Dielectric responce of the Mott insulator and the Anderson insulator are calculated respectively. Steplike behaviors in P − E curve are obtained which corresponds to breakdown of the insulating behavior. For the Mott insulator, the steps originate from generation of kink-pairs. For the Anderson insulator on the other hand, the origin of the steps is a crossing of the localized one particle energy levels. We also treat random systems with interaction. From one parameter scaling analysis of the susceptibility χ, the metal-insulator transition in attractively interacting region is confirmed and a phase diagram of the random spinless fermion model is obtained.

Transport of one-dimensional interacting fermions through a barrier.

We study the transport properties of one-dimensional (1D) interacting Fermions through a barrier by numerically calculating the Kohn charge stiffness constant and the relative Drude weight. We find that the transport properties of the 1D Hubbard model are quite different from those of the 1D spinless Fermion model. For example, the presence of the attractive interaction between electrons in the...

Persistent Currents in 1 D Disordered Rings of Interacting Electrons

(Received) We calculate the persistent current of 1D rings of spinless fermions with short-range interactions on a lattice with up to 20 sites, and in the presence of disorder, for various band fillings. We find that both disorder and interactions always decrease the persistent current by localizing the electrons. Away from half-filling, the interaction has a much stronger influence in the pres...

Disorder in the 1d Spinless Holstein Model

Disorder in the 1D spinless Holstein model. Abstract: We investigate a spinless fermion system on a one dimensional lattice interacting locally with the optical modes of a quantized phonon field: the Holstein model. The system is shown to have a disordered ground state, for small enough coupling, at any density. This is in contrast to the non quantized phonon case, the static Holstein model, wh...

Tunneling of Interacting Fermions in 1D Systems

Using the self-consistent Hartree–Fock approximation for spinless electrons at zero temperature, we study tunneling of the interacting electron gas through a single δ barrier in a finite one-dimensional wire connected to contacts. Our results exhibit features known from correlated many-body models. In particular, the conductance decays with the wire length as ∝ L−2α, where the power α is univer...
